The SC 32 is a handheld unit with a built-in 2 line by 16 character LCD display which will receive, decode and display selcalls, telcalls, beacon requests and hang-up commands in the three common formats (Barrett, Codan and WA2).
The received signal is fed into the SC 32 either from it's internal microphone or through a jack socket and lead. Power for the SC 32 is supplied either from an internal 9 volt Nicad or from an external power supply. There is an basic internal charger circuit to recharge the Nicad when the SC 32 is fed from an external source.
An internal piezo alarm be programmed to be triggered when receiving a selcall TO or FROM a specific selcall ID. This ID can contain wildcards allowing the alarm to operate on a range of selcall IDs. Using the alarm functions enables a channel to be monitored for selcalls either going to or origating from a particular radio.
For example programming an ID of 12?4 will enable the alarm for the following ID's: 1204, 1214, 1224, 1234, 1244, 1254, 1264, 1274, 1284 and 1294. While programming an ID of say 87?? will enable the alarm for all selcall ID numbers between 8700 and 8799.
